Bullying is rampant, and although there are lots of advice lines and awareness programmes, this is very often not enough. Whether your child is bullied or bullies, it’s a formidable problem and one that needs addressing as quickly as possible to avoid the entrenchment of lifelong patterns of behaviour in dealing and being dealt with by other people. Very often schools are unable to react specifically and are faced with an increasing lack of viable support to deal with this huge problem. Bullying is increasingly conducted through less direct methods than physical aggression, cyber-stalking and the use of mobile phones is common, but it is against the Law. So we offer pragmatic, holistic answers involving all parties concerned and outside agencies specializing in anti-harassment legislation.
For a bullied child, the world can seem an increasingly hostile place, we can help change that view. Bullied children suffer from anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and the crushing of their self-esteem; many develop physical symptoms such as stomach pain, headaches and panic attacks. The bully has to be stopped and the victim has to regain their trust in the rest of the world and themselves. Our combination of therapy and confidence building, targets the very specific problems concerning each individual and the circumstance surrounding the aggressor. We leave no stone unturned in our recommendations and will use the Legal system if necessary, through our Legal Support Services. We involve the school as much as possible and will mediate when relations with such authorities have broken down. Access to support through the phone, texting and email is always there.
Discovering your child bullies can be shocking and frightening. Many parents find it very hard to accept that their child seems to be inflicting psychological or physical pain on another, many do not accept. But behind every bully is an emotional problem that can hopefully be resolved if addressed in the right way. Violence to others in whatever form cannot be excused and such behaviour has to be stopped at the earliest opportunity. It is far better to address the problem as early as possible as see the effects of legal action. We can offer a range of therapies and family based interventions to put an end to a child’s aggressive behaviour, even if that child is part of a group or gang.
We provide a unique mix of psychological and legal expertise to stop the aggressor, heal the bullied child and give them back their confidence; mediate with the school and other agencies, and support parents, throughout the process.
